2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Data You Provide

JarVest is designed to work entirely on your device. The financial data you enter — savings goals, target amounts, transaction history, jar entries, precious metal quantities, and notes — is stored locally on your device only using an on-device database. This data is never transmitted to our servers.

2.2 Data Collected Automatically

Subscription & Purchase Data (RevenueCat)

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat may collect:

An anonymous user identifier (randomly generated, not linked to your name or email)
Purchase history and subscription status for your App Store or Google Play account
App version and platform (iOS/Android)
Device locale and time zone

Local Notifications

If you enable savings reminders or milestone alerts, the App schedules local notifications on your device. These notifications are processed entirely on-device and no data is sent to external servers in connection with them.

Photos, camera, or microphone
Device contacts or calendar

4. Data Storage & Security

All personal financial data (goals, transactions, jar entries) is stored on your device using an encrypted local database. We have no access to this data.

Purchase-related data is stored on RevenueCat's servers, secured under their infrastructure, which is certified to industry-standard security practices.

6. Children's Privacy

JarVest is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access the data held about you
Delete your data — you can delete all local data by uninstalling the App. For RevenueCat purchase records, contact us and we will submit a deletion request on your behalf.
Opt out of purchase tracking by not making any in-app purchases.

GDPR (European Union): If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including rights of access, rectification, erasure, and portability of your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

CCPA (California, USA): If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information.

8. Data Retention

Local app data: retained on your device until you delete the App or clear its data manually.
RevenueCat purchase records: retained according to RevenueCat's data retention policy. Contact us to request deletion.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
